Energy Changes
In a chemical reaction energy is either absorbed or released, often as heat
There are 2 types of energy changes:
Endothermic changes are when energy is absorbed and temperature is decreased.
e.g. ammonium nitrate + water + heat --> ammonuim nitrate solution
Exothermic changes are when energy is released and temperature is decreased.
e.g. sodium hydroxide + water --> sodium hydroxide solution + heat
