Types of Governments
There are 9 types of governments:
Monarchy:
Monarchy:
- Government has a hereditary monarch, such as king, or queen
- One person has complete power
- The army runs the whole country
- The state runs all economic activity under one political party. There are no social classes or private property. Everyone is payed equally no matter what jobs they do.
- The ruler is the absolute dictator. Often a cruel and harsh form of government.
- A country without a monarch, with an elected government and a President.
- The government controls everything and limits individual freedom.
- Comes from the Greek 'an archos' meaning no ruler. People live in communities and govern themselves
- The people run the country, usually through the parliament elected by them.
